In the XVIIth century, daughter of the famous Roman Baroque painter Orazio Gentileschi, Artemisia mastered the techniques and the colors first hand from her father but soon found her own style that brought out the feminine sensibility and elegance to an often masculine dictated world. Biblical heroines such as Judith, Suzanne, Yaël, Venus, are her usual subject of interests.
