Italian female Baroque painter, is considered one of the most accomplished painters today from an era where women painters were usually not accepted by the artistic community in Italy. In the XVIIth century, daughter of the famous Roman Baroque painter Orazio Gentileschi, Artemisia mastered the techniques and the colors first hand from her father but soon found her own style that brought out the feminine sensibility and elegance to an often masculine dictated world. Biblical heroines such as Judith, Suzanne, Yaël, Venus, are her usual subject of interests.
